Polo Mallets

Polo – the sport of kings and, some would argue, the world’s oldest known team sport. Kiwi company Wood Mallets in Hawkes Bay has carved a reputation producing the world’s best polo mallets. In fact George Wood has been making his impeccable polo mallets for 37 years! Sold all over the world, with sultans, sheikhs and princes among his loyal customers, George goes to great effort to select the best materials for his mallets.

Naturally, he turned to Cordall to source his polo mallet tape. George uses the Cordall raw cotton tape to tighten up the joint where the cane attaches to the head of the mallet. The tape acts to absorb the shock of the big hits, safeguarding the cane from fracturing and helping reduce injury risk (such as ‘tennis elbow’) for polo players. The 25mm cotton tape supplied by Cordall is natural – not pre-shrunk or bleached – so it works perfectly.
